The North Eastern Philosophy of Education Society (NEPES) is a regional organization of the Philosophy of Education Society. Members, presenters, and annual conference participants focus on rigorous discussions about the history, policy, pedagogy, and contemporary issues within education as understood through the discipline of philosophy. Annual conferences occur during the fall semester. The organization prides itself on being a very cordial and inviting environment for junior and seasoned university faculty, graduate and undergraduate students, pre-service and in-service teachers, administrators, and community members. The annual conferences have a "small" feel, but are quite energetic, creative, and positive. The intimate and conversational climate of the conferences allow for making connections and inspiring each other to address and work with educational issues and deeply investigate the philosophical roots that create contemporary conditions of education.
